NHLBI or National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute
Part of the federal National Institutes of Health (NIH); NHLBI provides leadership for a national program in diseases of the heart, blood vessels, lung (including asthma), and blood; blood resources; and sleep disorders. It conducts and funds research and educational activities, including the development and distribution of materials with an emphasis on prevention.
